Lord – Lead Us Not Into Temptation, Lead us into You.

We can fall into our own pity parties in the trials that we go through; whether they be testings from God, from Satan, or maybe even our own silly mistakes – we humans seem to love to complain about the woes that are ailing us.  We are not the only ones going through trials; and our trials are not unique to the human race.  We must be vigilant in not falling into these pitfalls that James 1 warns us about:

1. We might blame God for our own sin.  We might try to blame God for the times when we have sinned or failed.  We can never blame God or say He led us into sin.  We must not try to shift responsibility to God for our failures; instead, we must learn our own weaknesses and make sure that under times of stress, we do not have access to those things that so easily trip us up.  “Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God:  for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempeth he any man” (James 1:13)

2. We might stay down for the ten count of defeat.  The nature of trials and temptations are such that we might fall into discouragement or sin; but we shouldn't stay in our sins for a count out!  If you have fallen and you want to get back up again -  call upon the LORD, confess your sins – and He with faithfully forgive them and heal you!  (1 John 1:9)  

Don’t blame God because you have failed to follow perfectly after Him; but if you do fall – run to Him and He will abundantly pardon!
