Matthew 6:33-34 - What are you seeking after? What are you looking for?
33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. 34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Is food, drink, clothing, or the cares of this life the only thing you worry about? [Matthew 6:25] We learn in the sermon on the Mount that the secret to living an Abundant Life is: a) not a secret and b) not found in the temporary needs of life. The needs of life are only an end to help us trust Him more. Our Father in Heaven knows exactly what you need; we should trust that He will provide for what we need and not always what we want. Let’s live the life of victory by living life the way He intended it.
Seek ye first must be our first priority! What are we to seek? Seek His Kingdom, learn from Jesus’s feet, and be content as a loyal citizen of His heavenly rule. When we seek Him, we should never stop seeking! Just like a bear that is not content with one source of food, so we should not be content with only finding God one day out of the week. Instead, we should strive to look for Him and search for Him everyday, every moment beginning with the time we arise in the morning.
Seek ye: This implies that it is a personal seeking; while your parent’s faith might have been good enough for your parents, it won’t get you to heaven. While there are many books, many journals, even many blogs like our own that show you God’s ways – they are not enough to fulfill the longing in your soul. You must go to God and get saved! You must personally accept Christ as your Savior and Lord and then follow His ways; seek ye implies personal decisions for following Him must be made today.
Why put off following Jesus? Seek Him today while He may be found.
