Proverbs 3:5-6 – Disciples of Jesus are always Trustworthy; trustworthiness is the only hope for America
"5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." Proverbs 3:5-6
Being trustworthy and having integrity means that you do the right thing when no one else is looking; when there are times we could be dishonest because we know we could get away with it, we realize that we could not hide our secret sins from the Lord or ourselves. Such people are given great tasks in the Kingdom of God!
John was trustworthy; as an apostle of the Lord, He loved Jesus and did not abandon Him in the darkest hour. He was there for Jesus; can Jesus say the same of us? Are we available every time He calls? Are we able to adapt to the many changes our church, ministries, or families need us to adapt to? Do we trust in the Lord with everything we have as well as acknowledging Him (Proverbs 3:5-6)? He will direct us if we let Him.
While many preachers and teachers are waiting for God to just pour out revival on America, God is waiting for His people to start taking their Christianity seriously and become dependable, available, and trustworthy disciples. America’s only hope is for dependable disciples of Christ influencing all spheres of society until people see that God is Holy, wonderful, and worthy of all praise.
Return what does not belong to you; fess up when you screw up; don’t steal time or treasures from anyone; don’t take credit for things you haven’t done; and remember to stand up for the helpless among us. James says it this way:
“Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.” James 1:27.
