Titus 2:12 - Teaching Grace

Everyday, grace can teach Christians how to act, what to believe, and how to serve.  Required on our part is being teachable every day and always listening to God’s word so we can become more like Christ. 

To be taught by God’s grace (Titus 2:11-12) means to be trained like children, and to be corrected where necessary.  Once we have learned to go on the correct path of holy living, it is our responsibility to be our brother’s keeper.  Don’t just complain that others are not as righteous as we are; reach out in a non judgmental way and give a helping hand by simply saying, “That’s not what God expects of us.”  Sometimes, a short exhortation is all that is needed.

But what are the lessons of Grace?  The first one is to deny “ungodliness” which means to refuse to live contrary to God just like the world does.  When we lack holy reverence for God’s Word by not listening or obeying them or when we refuse to accept the path that He has given us in life – we live “ungodly”.  Don’t ignore God’s will; embrace it as your own.  As we study and learn God’s grace together, expect to grow more and more like Christ.
