Blindly resisting government may actually mean fighting against what God has ordained. In this message from Romans 13, we grapple with how God stands behind human government, even when rulers are flawed or hostile. We wrestle with when civil disobedience is necessary, learning from Scripture that we must obey God rather than men, yet be ready to suffer for that stand. Together we are called to overcome evil with good, live peaceably, honor leaders, pay what is due, and earnestly pray for all in authority. So how should we respond when government oversteps—and what kind of witness will we leave when we do?
